We are safely home after our last day in the car. The ride was long but the kids were great as they have been all summer. During over 100+ hours in the car the boys never complained once. They argued with each other from time to time but for the most part they were truly road warriors and troopers to the end. How? you may ask. Well they do have Gameboy electronic games to play with but they also spent a large amount of time reading, writing in their journals, drawing, listening to music, sleeping, working on a hook rug, and looking for all the different state license plates. We found all but Rhode Island and West Virginia. As a family we really enjoyed listening to episodes of Hardcore History, a podcast I found before we left.

That was quite a summary (miles, parks, gallons, etc.). I think you had a wonderful vacation from the sound of things.
What an awesome trip you guys had. The total number of miles driven seems exhausting to me but at least you were able to break it up with stops at some amazing places. Sometimes I think we're reluctant to go on any road trips because it takes a couple of tedious days just to get out of Texas!
